Pilates Machines

It was developed almost 100 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates, and his main principal was to build up flexibility along with muscle strength, without the bulk associated with body building. His method is used widely, it is very similar to yoga, but even so, a bit different. Many companies have made machines to specifically cater for the Pilates method user, I will show you my three favorite ones.

The most well known piece of hardware is the Reformer. This Pilates exercise machine will give you over 100 types of exercises. Want to know how to use a Pilates exercise machine? Just jump onto this baby, you will find out a lot for yourself, that’s the best part, exploration, trust me, the exercises you can do with the Pilates machine are endless.

If you want to pit this Pilates machine against the Total Gym in a Pilates exercise machine vs Total Gym fight, I think you will find the final score to be 1:1. The two machines are very similar, although the Pilates machine workout focuses more on the mind because it has a moving chair. You must focus on your movements to become a good user of this machine.

If you have come across the Aero machine Pilates you will be familiar with what I have just said. The Aero is the same as the Reformer, just made by a different company.

The best Pilates machine in my opinion though is the Cadillac. It is otherwise known as the rack, and yes, it sounds, and looks, like something from a torture chamber. Don’t be scarred though, it will only make you look and feel great. It is a combination of a bench and a jungle gym. The bench enables you to do vertical exercises, while the tools hanging from the top can be used for other types. This Pilates home workout machine does need some space, so be sure you can fit it!

There are a lot of other machines on the market too. The Denise Austin Pilates machine is a great example, and one of my favorites, the supreme Pilates machine, the Combo. It combines the Reformer with the Cadillac, and with superb results.

There are also more standard home Pilates machines like the chair, which takes up no space at all and enables you to do 75 types of workouts. Browse the net, visit your gym, be on the lookout for these machines, they could transform your body.
