Rebounders & Mini-Trampolines
The reason they are so great is that they can be used by people with leg injuries because they are very easy on the legs. Running puts a lot of strain on your knee joints for example, where a rebounder will go easy on you, while working out many more muscles in your body.
Mini trampolines are very handy at home, where you might not have the space to contain a big one. A small trampoline can give you the same exercise routine as a big one, although you do have to make some compromises. Mini trampoline exercises include basic jumping, basic jogging, the heel-toe bounce, and so on. If you have even less space, or perhaps want to take your rebounder with you, opt for a folding mini trampoline. There is a also kids mini trampoline available, which is slightly smaller, and much safer for children.
A new design of trampolines is the urban rebounder. The urban rebounder trampoline is essentially a mini trampoline rebounder with a bar you can hold on to. This will enable you to do many more exercises, not just your normal jumping and running. It is also quite small, you can fit it in a medium sized bedroom or living room.
One of the other fads in the trampoline business is the Hedstraom mini trampoline. It is a rebounder trampoline from Canada. It is nothing special, this is really a matter of taste. If you want to see something special, try the Pilates free-form cardio rebounder. If you know what a Reformer is, you can sort of picture this. It is a long machine with a movable sitting are, with a rebounder on the bottom. The rebounder is used to increase the tension and speed of the work out. If you are into Pilates I strongly suggest buying this great piece of equipment.
As the Pilates machine shows, there is endless opportunity in this form of exercise. I suggest visiting your local gym or sports store and trying out some rebounders. I'm sure you'll find the right shape and size for your house and you can be off to a safe but effective workout.
