Pilates Classes
Pilates is a great method for working out. It was developed by a man named Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920’s and is used in the same and altered form throughout the world by experts teaching fitness. Its fundamental strategy is to develop flexibility and muscle without bulk. It concentrates more on mind over matter, that is the total attention to our body, and in that sense it is very much like yoga. Many of the same principles and theories can be applied and used throughout the methods.
Pilates classes can vary from a Pilates class indoors in a gym, to college Pilates classes, to free online Pilates classes. Free online classes are usually hosted by fitness sites that offer this as a free how to guide with either a fixed set of pages, or as a constant update. There are also newsletters that carry Pilates classes and yoga Pilates classes.
A major upside of a gym Pilates classis that you get personal attention. There may be prepared Pilates class music to relax to while in the gym and instructors will monitor your progress constantly. Aside from giving the needed personal touch it makes the workout that much more effective. You immediately know when you’re going in a wrong direction and can get corrected in seconds. If you are taking free online classes you are pretty much on your own after reading the material.
There are some very prestigious companies out there who deal with teaching Pilates and Pilates yoga classes. Bally fitness Pilates classes are inarguably one of the best, along with Scott Pilates, Mari Winsor and such. These companies are proven to be cream of the crop, providing facilities, equipment, instructors, instructional videos, the whole deal. The reason I am very much in favor of these companies is that they provide everything to you on the spot, no exceptions. Everyone in the company is a Pilates specialist so even if you talk to the receptionist at the establishment you can get useful information. Their instructors are world-class and that is what matters most to people taking these classes. They have years and years of training expertise, you just can’t go wrong with them.
Additionally there are some private gyms who have instructors well versed in Pilates and Yoga. If you pop in the local gym, be sure to ask around, some of the best trainers have their own gym, maybe not centered around Pilates, but they could be willing to teach classes.
